MAY is a friend of both Yam and Gato. She can be "girly" at times, which annoys Yam and Gato, but also very tough; which comes in handy on an island where anything can happen.
GATO is Yam’s best-buddy. He is always willing to take part in an adventure, no matter how bad of an idea it is.
GRAMS is Yam's elderly neighbor but she is more like a grandmother to Yam. She always makes sure Yam eats well and bakes one heck of a chocolate-chip cookie.
MILKMAN MIKE is the island's milk delivery man and an all-around swell guy. Shhhh! Don't tell! He also has a crush on Grams.
KING ISHI KAGO is monarch of the island. He lives in a bamboo palace with royal guards, advisors, and his son, Prince Ishi Wa Wa. He may not be the most sophisticated king in the world, but you can bet he's one of the nicest.
YAM is a small boy in hooded-footy pajamas. Yam finds himself in unbelievable adventures on the tropical island of La Leche Del Luna. He and his friends like to play games and fish, but often, they get into fixes where only his imagination and his rocket-backpack can help!
